CAM Raleigh (Contemporary Art Museum)

A warning first: If you have a gaggle of rambunctious kids with a lot of energy to release, this is not the place to go. Unlike Marbles or the Science Museum, this an regular art museum for adults, and if your kids knocks over a Ming vase, well, it was probably real.

But do bring your kids; CAM is spacious and since its opening in 2011, our little one has enjoyed several shows there. I think because contemporary art often is interactive and shows regular objects in new ways, it can speak to kids more than a Monet or a Mondrian.
